Super 'Seventies' (sorta) Saturday #6 - "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum

Well, hope everyone had a nice holiday season, and is 'transitioning' back to the routine... as well as to be expected.
...as for today's 'Super Seventies' feature...well, remember when I noted that the 'seventies' aspect of this post might be 'tweaked' at times? well, here's one of those 'liberties' moments...
this tune is from my year of birth, 1967, and it is an awesome tune... "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by the band named Procol Harum (which is a 'variant' of the 'CatFancy' name (kinda like the AKC for purebred dogs, I guess) of somebody's cat whom the band knew...if that makes any sense...) - anyway, this tune is a very 'deep' arrangement, that is noted in Wiki to be a variation of a Bach composition...the heavy organ fills work well with the melancholy theme, whatever that theme may be...
The tune has great vocals by Gary Brooker, which give more than a nod to the great Irish soulster Van Morrison... overall, a very nice arrangement, and although you can say it has a 'dated' sound, the 'BIG picture' of the tune has a 'timeless' feel to it, in my honest opinion...and believe me when I say I'm being honest with you...to be honest with you...er... um.
So, with that, hope ya enjoy the tune... it's truly a classic...honestly!

Until then...
